The British coastguard has called off its search for a crew member from the luxury liner QE2, who was reporting missing early yesterday morning.
The man, an Indian national, is believed to have gone missing at around 2.30 a.m.
A search operation, co-ordinated by Falmouth coastguard, was launched when he failed to report for his morning shift.
An Aer Corps fisheries patrol joined RAF Nimrod aircraft in the search, which was centred around an area about 280 miles southwest of Fastnet Rock.

The QE2 left New York a week ago and was one day from Southampton when the incident occurred.
