Search of River Slaney for Enniscorthy man continues

Gardaí in Co Wexford are investigating an incident in which a young man fell into the River Slaney last night.

Members of the garda sub-aqua team have joined in the search in Enniscorthy for the body of the 20-year-old man who is presumed to have drowned.

It is understood that gardaí believe the man either fell or was pushed into the river following an altercation with a group of youths in the town shortly after 12.30 a.m.

The missing man is understood to be from Ballymurn outside Enniscorthy.
