The Food and Wine Weekends which manager Adrian Bartels organises at Kenmare's Sheen Falls Lodge are celebrated events, and this year's autumn weekend, on November 20th and 21st, promises something special, for there will be a chance to meet key Bordeaux winemakers and taste two of Bordeaux's "super seconds", Chateau Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande, and Cos d'Estournel.

Jean-Guillaume Prats is son of the legendary Bruno Prats, one of the key figures in modern Bordelais wine culture, while Pierre Lawton is the eighth direct descendant of the wine geese who left Cork for France in 1729. They will be conducting tastings over the course of the weekend, and discussing wine topics, while chef Fergus Moore will be cooking up a gala dinner for Saturday night.

Prices for the weekend are £299 for each person, sharing, to include dinner on Friday night, tastings on Friday, Saturday and Sunday and a champagne reception.
