New Tottenham manager, Glenn Hoddle, was forced to sit in the stands today, and watch as his new charges went down 2-0 to local rivals Arsenal.
David Pleat took control of an injury-ravaged Spurs team for today's game, before Hoddle officially takes the reins on Monday morning.
Spurs never really looked like troubling the Gunners, but doggedly kept Arsenal at bay for much of the match, before conceding two goals in the last twenty minutes.
Robert Pires opened the scoring after seventy minutes, and fellow Frenchman, Thierry Henry wrapped up the three points with three minutes to go.
