Computer chip maker Texas Instruments said semiconductor orders it received in the first two months of the quarter were strong compared with the fourth quarter.

The Dallas-based company said that if the strength in orders continued, semiconductor revenue should grow sequentially in the second quarter.

The firm also said it still expects to post revenues about even with the fourth quarter and breakeven pro forma earnings per share in the first quarter.
