A hand grenade exploded early today outside the Belgrade apartment of a prominent Serbian journalist's home, shattering its windows but causing no injuries.
"My wife and I were sleeping in the room when the explosion occurred in front of the window at 0245 in the morning," Dejan Anastasijevic, who writes for Vremeweekly newspaper and contributes to Timemagazine, said.
He said his daughter who also lives with them had not been at home at the time.
"I have no idea what it's about. I have not written anything lately which could provoke such an attack," Mr Anastasijevic added.
He has covered organised crime and war crimes in his reporting. The editor-in-chief of VremeDragoljub Zarkovic speculated the attack could be linked to Mr Anastasijevic's criticism of a ruling against Serb paramilitaries this week, Beta news agency said.
He had been a witness in the trial of late strongman Slobodan Milosevic who died last year in the Hague before his trial for atrocities during the 1990s wars in Bosnia, Croatia and Kosovo could be completed.
