A gas leak caused when a digger struck an underground pipe is causing major disruption in Belfast today.
Hundreds of people from offices near Donegall Quay have been evacuated, and a fire brigade spokesman said they were treating the leak as a major incident.
He said a large volume of gas had escaped and was staying in the area. Firefighters said workmen using a digger struck the gas main on Donegall Quay.
Gas engineers are working to isolate the leak and are using water spray to prevent a possible explosion.

They hope to shut off the gas supply but it is expected to be several hours before those who have been moved to safety can return to their workplace.
Traffic flow through the docks area of the city is seriously disrupted by the emergency.
