A new legal service for asylum-seekers is to open in Dublin next week, reports Paul Cullen, Development Correspondent. The Department of Justice says the Refugee Legal Service will provide independent legal advice and representation for asylum-seekers. It will operate from the Department's "one-stop shop" for asylum-seekers in Lower Mount Street, Dublin. The Labour Party has accused the Minister for Justice of ignoring a Supreme Court ruling that parts of the Aliens Act, 1935 are unconstitutional. Its justice spokesman, Mr Howlin, said it was "outrageous" that Mr O'Donoghue was continuing to make fresh deportation orders under section 5 of the Act. However, the Minister last night accused Mr Howlin of "contriving" arguments for which there was no basis.
