An RUC man was taken to hospital after being struck by a stolen car on the outskirts of west Belfast tonight.
The collision occurred at a junction of Brians Well Road and Pantridge Road in Poleglass. His injuries were not thought to be life-threatening.
It is believed a shot was fired by police during the incident.
An RUC spokesman said the matter had been referred to police ombudsman Nuala O'Loan.
