Gardaí are investigating a shooting incident at a family home in Limerick in the early hours of this morning.

A number of people were in the house at the time but no one was injured.

Several shots were fired through the front window of the family home at old Cork Road, Limerick, at about 4 a.m.

The incident was reported to Gardai shortly afterwards.

Gardai have retrieved a bullet from the scene, and are conducting house to house enquiries. Roxboro Gardai are investigating the incident.

Meanwhile, a man was shot in the leg in a separate incident in Dublin last night.

The man who is in his 30's was shot by one of two youths as he was walking in the Donaghmede area at about 11 pm.

He was taken to Beaumont hospital where he is being treated for his injuries. Gardai are investigating the incident.
