Gardaí in Limerick are today investigating an incident in which shots were fire into the front of a house in the city early this morning.
The incident occurred in a house in Wellfield estate in the Garryowen area. Several shots are understood to have been fired into a downstairs bedroom window of the house.
The occupants of the house, a mother and father and their two teenage children, were uninjured in the attack.
A Garda spokesman said the force was still trying to establish a motive behind the attack but that a gangland connection was not being investigated.
