The latest move could see the involvement of many other groups of drivers in the two-week dispute. If the application is successful unionised taxi drivers, local authority workers and trade union members could be asked not to pass the SIPTU picket.
SIPTU branch Secretary Mr Michael Halpenny said management had "seriously underestimated" the difficulties posed by the dispute.
"This means that NTR workers are more determined than ever to secure their property entitlements," Mr Halpenny added.
