Site injunction is continued

A temporary injunction closing down a building site has been continued by the High Court

A temporary injunction closing down a building site has been continued by the High Court. The National Authority for Occupational Safety and Health last Friday secured a temporary injunction shutting down the operations of Cruson Developments Ltd in Cathal Brugha Street, Dublin, until specified measures were taken to reduce the risk to safety and health to a reasonable level.

Mrs Justice Laffoy agreed yesterday to continue the injunction until Monday. Ms Mary O'Reilly, of F.H. O'Reilly solicitors, for the company, applied for the adjournment.

Last week the judge was told the company had a very poor safety record. It was stated that it had ignored and flouted safety regulations over a period of years. Mr Robert Roe, an inspector with the National Authority for Occupational Safety and Health, said on affidavit he had inspected the Cathal Brugha Street site, from which a man had fallen four storeys.
