Members of the business community and the local authority in Bundoran, Co Donegal are considering a total ban on stag parties after weekend violence which resulted in two people being brought to hospital and six arrests.
Violence erupted in the town following a row involving two groups from Northern Ireland who were attending a stag party. Considerable damage was caused to a guesthouse while fighting in a nightclub spilled into the main street.
Garda reinforcements were called and six men, all with Northern Ireland addresses, were arrested and will appear in court on June 4th. Two people injured in the incidents remain in Sligo General Hospital, where their conditions have been described as "comfortable".
