Six people were killed today in a mid-air collision between two small aircraft over Bavaria, German police have said.
A Cessna plane with a pilot and four passengers and a one-man glider were involved in the collision, a police spokesman said. The wreckage landed about 100 metres outside the town of Lechsend, north of Munich.
"All we know at this point is that the two aircraft crashed into each other in mid-air," the spokesman said.
"The wreckage landed in a field just outside of the town. Luckily no one on the ground was hurt."
