Mexico City - Mexican authorities have arrested six more suspects in connection with the massacre of 45 Indian refugees in southern Chiapas state on December 22nd, bringing to 46 the number of people detained for the crime.
Mexico's Attorney General's Office, which is in charge of the investigation, said in a news release the six had been arrested on charges of homicide, illegal possession of weapons and criminal association.
The Christmas week massacre of defenceless refugees has brought worldwide condemnation and cast a pall over the holiday season in Mexico. Paramilitary gunmen using automatic weapons killed 45 people and wounded dozens of others.
