Honolulu - At least six soldiers were confirmed dead and seven others injured when two US army helicopters crash-landed after a mid-air collision near Oahu in Hawaii late on Monday, military sources said.
The Blackhawks crashed at about 7.40 p.m. on Monday (5.40 a.m. yesterday Irish time) in the Koolau mountains, a spokesman for the Honolulu Fire Department, said.
Meanwhile, yesterday, President Bush in a telephone conversation with the Japanese Prime Minister, Mr Yoshiro Mori, said Washington would do everything possible to locate those missing after the US navy submarine Greeneville crashed into a Japanese fishing boat last week.
