A man arrested in connection with a suspected plot to kidnap and kill a British Muslim soldier appeared in a London court yesterday

Basiru Gassama, 29, was charged at Westminster Magistrates Court with failing to disclose information that could prevent an act of terrorism.

He is the sixth man to be charged with terrorism offences following dawn police raids in the central city of Birmingham last week.

Police have released without charge three other men who were arrested in the same operation.
