Dublin - The Foreign Minister of the Slovak Republic officially opened her country's first embassy to Ireland last night on the first day of a two-day visit, writes Mark Brennock.
Ms Zdenka Kramplova told a reception at the embassy on Clyde Road, Dublin, there was now great room for expansion of political, economic and cultural co-operation between Ireland and the Slovak Republic. Slovakia is one of the states currently beginning pre-accession negotiations with the EU, and she said she was confident Ireland would support Slovakia's aim to join.
