Rome - Three members of Italy's armed forces are being investigated for manslaughter after the death of two Italians serving with the NATO-led Kosovo peacekeeping force, judicial officials said yesterday.

The two airmen, Mr Giuseppe Fioretti (25) and Mr Paolo Nigro (23), jumped from the FH3D helicopter when it was 50 metres from the ground in the western Kosovo town of Pec on August 9th. One died on impact, the other en route to a hospital. Both had been based in the northwestern city of Turin.
