The teenage son of an Irish man has been killed in Spain after he was charged by a young bull.
Diego Page (16) died in the city of Huesca after the incident during a local festival. He died in hospital a few hours after being charged at in the bullring on the Plaza Tel Toros on Wednesday morning.
He suffered severe chest injuries after the animal rammed him into a fence surrounding the bullring.
The teenager lived with his Irish father and Spanish mother in the nearby town of Bolea. They had moved there from Ireland in 2004.
Two days of mourning were declared by the mayor of Huesca Ana Alos Lopez, and flags in the northeastern Spanish city were flown at half mast yesterday.
The Department of Foreign Affairs said it had not received any requests for consular assistance in relation to the incident.
