Sony is to unveil a PlayStation 3 (PS3) with an 80-gigabyte (GB) hard drive next month in South Korea.
Sony brought out the PS3 to a less-than-enthusiastic reception at the start of the year, with a 60GB version in Europe and both a 60GB and 20GB version elsewhere. It now wants to test whether a more expensive but higher-grade version of the game console proves popular.
In North America, Sony is discontinuing the lower capacity version and focusing on the 60-GB model.
The upgraded PS3 goes on sale in South Korea in on June 16th price at $556 (€413). The 60-GB version sells at around €620 in Europe.
