Blackburn Rovers manager Graeme Souness has admitted that on-loan Hakan Sukur is likely to leave at the end of the season.
The Turkey striker joined Rovers in December as a free agent, signing a six-month contract. However, Sukur broke his leg in training just a fortnight after his arrival and was out for several weeks.
And Souness has accepted that time is running out for the former Galatasaray and Parma striker.
"We are not in a position to sign Hakan," said the Rovers boss. "We cannot make an offer which is attractive enough to him. We have a lot of strikers and we have Matt Jansen coming back for next season.
"We are hoping to see the old Matt Jansen, and if we do, he will have a big say in who plays up front.
"Money is tight in football generally, not just at Blackburn. We have got to spend wisely and we have priority positions," he said.
Sukur is included in Souness latest squad and will again be vying for a starting place up front with Andy Cole and Dwight Yorke for tomorrow's final home game against relegated West Bromwich Albion.
With two games left, Rovers have a chance of finishing sixth in the Premier League to earn a European qualifying place.
