Hockey: Ireland came unstuck in the fourth match of their South African training camp this evening, going down 2-0 to their hosts in Cape Town.
Despite the defeat, coach Gene Muller was satisfied with the performance but feels while the 10-day warm weather hiatus, which will see the Irish play six matches, is paying dividends, certain areas still need to be worked on.
"I am pleased with the way we played tonight, we improved from the first two matches," said Muller. "We played with more confidence and structure but still have not attended to some details that often determine the outcome in internationals."
Ireland will take on Canada again tomorrow evening before they play South Africa for the third time next Saturday.
