Spanish police today arrested 126 people suspected of trafficking illegal steroids and other sport performance enhancers.
The Interior Ministry said searches of four gymnasiums, a health food shop and five private homes yielded drugs, including anabolic steroids which gym owners and managers supplied to clients.
The ministry said those detained in Madrid, Barcelona, the Canary Islands and 28 other provinces - were connected to a large distribution ring involving gyms and health food shops which police uncovered last month.
