A spectator who ran on the field and tackled South African international Deon Kayser during a weekend Super 12 rugby match was fined 600 Australian dollarstoday.
He was also ordered to pay 200 Australian dollars compensation to the player.
The 20-year-old man pleaded guilty to assault and disorderly conduct in the Brisbane Magistrates for the tackle - made during yesterday’s Sunday's clash between Australia's Queensland Reds and South Africa's Sharks.
The spectator was captured by security staff and handed over to police after he ran on the field and crash-tackled Kayser from behind 15 minutes before the end of Sunday's match.
Kayser, who scored two tries in the match, was not injured in the incident but the Sharks management were unhappy at the security breach.
