Sport and music to hit traffic

In Cork this evening Muster take on Leinster at 7.30pm in the Celtic League, while Ulster and Edinburgh face off in Ravenhill in Belfast at 7.30pm. Meanwhile, Connacht take on Glasgow at the Sportsground in Galway at 6.30pm.

The FAI Cup Final is taking place on Sunday in the RDS in Ballsbridge, Dublin, meaning that traffic volumes through the area will be heavy before the match kicks off at 3.30pm and after 6.30pm once the final whistle is blown.

According to AA Roadwatch, thousands of music fans are also set to converge on the area, as the Interpol and Rhianna concerts take place in the Main Hall and in Simmonscourt on Sunday.

Ice skaters will also be hitting Dublin roads this weekend, as 7-up Christmas On Ice continues. Traffic will be affected through Ballsbridge and Sandymount, will be affected, with the hotspots being Anglesey Rd, Merrion Road, Simmonscourt Road, Shelbourne Road and Pembroke Road.

Gardai will be on hand to help direct traffic, although there will be no road closures. AA Roadwatch is advising people to make use of public transport to reduce the chance of traffic delays.
