This weekend a new season is welcomed in and there will be a spring people's step and a rise in temperatures as all-round sunny intervals replace the chilly northeasterly wind and rain that recently dominated our skies. It'll be "cool-ish but not cold" according to Met Éireann.

Widespread sunny spells are expected with fresh north to northwest winds. Some  frost is on the cards but there is "nothing too warning" in this weekend's forecast. Tonight, winds will slacken turning the breeze cool.  Expect fog and icy patches with temperatures of 3 degrees going down as far as minus 2.

Tomorrow morning the sun will lift the fog early and temperatures of up to10 degrees Celsius . are expected.

The first Sunday in Spring is expected to be nice and dry with little or no winds. As night falls, so will fog patches and ground frost.
