STAFF at Cork Regional Technical College have rejected the Minister for Education's establishment of an expert group to advise on the RTC sector. They said Ms Breathnach's proposal did not meet their requirements that the expert group should have industry representation, a realistic deadline for its report, publication at the outset of criteria on the role and status of an institute of technology, and urgent consideration of Cork RTC's case.
At a staff meeting yesterday, the Cork RTC staff warned their campaign would be accelerated and would be an election issue.
