Three Moroccan stowaways were last night in jail after jumping ship in Cork early yesterday. The three men - all in their early 20s - jumped ship off the bulk carrier, Archangelos Sea at Ringaskiddy Deepwater Berth after being refused permission to land on Thursday.

They made their way on foot towards Cork city, over 10 miles away, but were spotted by a Garda patrol and arrested.

Gardaí have also repatriated three Hungarian men in their 20s who arrived at Cork Airport on a charter flight from Paris early yesterday.
