Structural weaknesses were the main cause for the May 23rd collapse of a section of the roof of a
Paris airport terminal that killed four people, the French Transport Ministry announced today.
"The view of the commission is that the main cause of the sudden collapse is linked to the perforation of the concrete roof by struts [supporting it]," the ministry said.
The ministry was quoting a preliminary investigative commission report that also cited a gradual weakening of the concrete used for the structure.
