A campaign to secure student votes in the forthcoming general election will take to the road this week. Rock The Vote will stop at every major third level institution, town and city in a bid to get young people to take an interest in politics.
Bands and musicians will play gigs around the country, while buskers will take to the streets to spread the Rock The Vote message.
The non-partisan, not-for-profit campaign aims to encourage young people to vote in the General Election.
"We're really excited about getting the message out to people at a grass roots level. "It should also be interesting to see these established acts hit the streets," said Rock The Vote's Patrick Cosgrave.
Under the slogan "good craic for a good cause", the road trip will visit Dundalk, Letterkenny, Donegal, Sligo, Galway, Athlone, Limerick, Tralee, Killarney, Cork and Waterford, with acts such as Tadhg Cooke, Bill Coleman, Ilya K and All Star Charge performing.
Information about voting, T-shirts, badges and sweets will also be handed out to potential voters.
The tour begins tomorrow at Dundalk Institute of Technology (IT) and Letterkenny IT, on Tuesday it travels to Donegal town, Sligo IT and NUI Galway, while on Wednesday it hits Galway-Mayo, Athlone, Ennis and Limerick. Tralee IT, Killarney town and Cork city will be visited on Thursday, with the campaign finishing up at Waterford IT and Portlaoise on Friday.
