Students from Littleton, the suburb of Denver, Colorado, where 12 students and a teacher were massacred last April, yesterday met relatives of victims of last August's Omagh bomb blast.

The students were part of a delegation led by Colorado Governor Bill Owens, pictured above with Mr Laurence Rush, whose wife Libby was killed in Omagh. Mr Owens presented a $50,000 cheque from the Ireland Funds to the Omagh Trust. The 12 teenagers were killed in Columbine High School by two school students who then turned their guns on themselves.

Mr Owens said he was deeply moved following his meeting with the victims' families. "In a way Omagh and Littleton are united in grief."
