CELEBRATIONS:OUTSIDE CLUB XXI on Dublin's D'Olier Street last night Junior Certs were celebrating, but with a strict no-alcohol policy.
Aimee McDonagh (16) from Templeogue celebrated her "all honours" results by going into The Square in Tallaght to get her make-up done before hitting the tiles. She was "over the moon" with her results.
Classmate Billy Cashin from Green Park in Walkinstown achieved nine honours and one pass. "I failed maths and that was a disappointment because I got grinds but I can't get my head around maths at all."
Stephanie McCourt and her classmates were facing a 7.45am start today for a trip to Glendalough. She wasn't looking forward to it, though, as she is "not really an outdoors person".
Earlier on in the day, the pupils of Larkin Community College on Dublin's Cathal Brugha Street were smiling with relief as a three-month wait for results finally ended. Students arrived at the school in groups of two and three throughout the morning before spilling out into the sunshine to dissect their results.
Twins Claire and Libby Doyle (16) were "in shock" as both thought they had failed maths.
"I got seven honours and two passes," Claire said with delight, adding she was very surprised to have passed maths.
Her equally delighted sister, who was also surprised to pass maths, said: "I got a B in Irish, which I can't believe."
Victoria Ciudin, a student at Presentation College in Terenure, was also thrilled with her results, obtaining eight As and one B. "Science isn't one of my strongest subjects so I was very surprised to get an A in that," she said.
From Moldova, but living in Ireland for the last five years, Ms Ciudin said: "I thought I would be upset with my results so I didn't plan any celebrations for tonight. I'm absolutely delighted though."
