You can visit Sculpture in Woodland in the Devil's Glen at any time throughout the year, but today the project is holding an open day to give people an opportunity to meet the three sculptors currently working there. They are Michael Bulfin from Ireland, Max Eastley from England and Alberto Carneiro from Portugal. They are adding three sculptures to the seven already in place throughout the Coillte forest, from Michael Warren's imposing Antaeus at the entrance to Kate O'Brien's eerie Seven Shrines deep in the woodland. The setting is stunning and the project is notable for the way the often very large sculptures are tactfully integrated into the landscape. The Devil's Glen Wood is four kilometres west from Ashford village. Visitors to the Open Day should go to the car park anytime from 2pm to 5pm this afternoon.
