Khartoum - About 2,000 Sudanese marched through the streets of Khartoum yesterday to protest against US-British air raids on Afghanistan.
The protesters shouted "down, down USA!" and burnt an effigy of US President George Bush at the hour-long demonstration, the latest in a series of protests in the country, which three years ago was itself the target of US missile strikes.
Riot police were deployed at the US embassy, the UN compound and other Western embassies where security has been tight during this month's strikes.
