Jakarta - An Indonesian court yesterday sentenced timber tycoon Muhamad "Bob" Hasan, a key business partner of disgraced former president Suharto, to two years' imprisonment on two separate corruption charges.
It was the first guilty verdict handed down to a Suharto associate since the former dictator fell from power in May, 1998. Hasan (70) was found guilty of causing losses to the state of $244m through a fraudulent aerial mapping survey awarded 11 years ago.
