A suicide bomber attacked a market in a Kurdish district of the Iraqi city of Kirkuk today, killing at least four people and wounding 28.
A senior police officer in Kirkuk said this was an initial death toll.
He said the bomber had been driving a vehicle packed with explosives but that there were conflicting reports as to whether it had been a car or a truck.
Eighty-five people were killed by a suicide truck bomb last month in the flashpoint oil-producing city in the north of Iraq. The city is claimed by Kurds, Arabs and Turkish-speaking Turkmen.
