Concern over the number of suicides was the subject of a meeting yesterday between the North's Minister for Health, Mr John McFall, and two of the North's coroners. Speaking after the meeting with Mr John Leckey, coroner for Belfast, and Mr Daniel Thompson, coroner for south Down, Mr McFall said the underlying factors behind these tragic deaths should be tackled.
Last year 124 deaths in the North were recorded as suicides. Of these 28 were people under the age of 25.
