Sunderland goalkeeper Thomas Sorensen will be out of action until the New Year after dislocating his elbow in yesterday's 3-1 defeat at Arsenal.
The Danish international landed awkwardly after contesting a high ball with Thierry Henry in the first half.
Sunderland manager Peter Reid said: "It looks as if he will be out for two to three months. It is a big blow but Thomas Myhre came in and did a good job".
