The full line-up for Slane 2011 has been announced, with Elbow, Thin Lizzy, White Lies, Mona and The Whigs playing support to The Kings of Leon.

The show at Slane Castle on Saturday, May 28th, is already sold out.

Aside from Elbow, who played a sold-out show at the O2 last week, the rest of the support slots are filled by rock acts. Thin Lizzy were Slane Castle’s very first headliners back in 1981 and this amounts to a 30th anniversary show.

The present incarnation has Phil Lynott-era band members Scott Gorham, Brian Downey and Darren Wharton along with Def Leppard’s Viv Campbell (guitar) and The Almighty's Ricky Warwick on vocals and guitar.

White Lies' debut album, To Lose My Life, went straight to the top of the UK album charts; Mona, from Nashville, are the winners of MTV Brand New for 2011; while The Whigs are another promising US group who hail from Athens, Georgia, the same town as former Slane headliners REM.
