Support for Fianna Fáil has dropped dramatically in the past month to 32 per cent, according to a poll published today.
The Sunday Business Post/Red C monthly tracking poll shows that Fianna Fáil support has fallen by seven points since late October to 32 per cent, just one point ahead of Fine Gael, which gained four points.
The collapse in support for the main Government party follows the crisis in cancer services and the news of huge payrises for Ministers.
Some 60 per cent of voters believe they were misled by the Government about the economy during the general election campaign, according to the poll. This view is shared by 40 per cent of Fianna Fáil's own voters.
According to the poll, support for the Labour Party stands at 13 per cent, up three points. The Green Party has gained two points bringing it to 9 per cent. Sinn Féin has lost a point giving it 7 per cent overall support.
There is no change in support for the Progressive Democrats at 2 per cent. Independents and others stand at 7 per cent.
