Houston - A three-year-old Texas boy whose arm was ripped off above the elbow by a caged pet tiger had the limb successfully reattached in overnight surgery, hospital officials said yesterday. Surgeons at Houston's Memorial Hermann Children's Hospital worked for nine hours to restore the arm to Jayton Tidwell.

The boy lost his arm when he stuck it through a gap in the cage of his uncle's Bengal tiger. It was retrieved by coaxing the animal to one side of his cage.
