Spanish giants Valencia have joined the race to sign John Sutton, brother of Celtic star Chris.
The 20-year-old striker has attracted considerable interest since moving to Bell's First Division side Raith Rovers in the summer, and Millwall are believed to be leading the chase to sign him.
But Valencia have had Sutton watched several times and they want to snap him up before the end of the month.
Director of football Jesus Garcia Pitarch told the Sun: "I can confirm we are very interested in John Sutton. He has caught the attention of our scouts and we have had him watched several times. He is a young player and we want to sign him before the transfer window closes at the end of this month.
"If we get him John will go straight into our B team with the possibility of a quick step up to the top side."
Sutton's agent, Tosh McKinlay, confirmed Valencia's interest - but insisted the highly rated striker could turn down a move to Spain for a club closer to home.
He said: "Valencia have asked John to go out there on a trial. But John has options here too and it might be too much of a risk for him to go on trial if there are clubs at home who want him now."
