Swim Ireland has been restrained from appointing a new chief executive officer until a claim by a solicitor that she already holds the post has been determined by the High Court.

Mr Justice Paul Gilligan stated yesterday that the national amateur swimming association was attempting to resile from its appointment of former national swimming champion Ms Sarah Keane. He said Ms Keane, a current member of the Irish National Water Polo Team, had applied in February last and following interview was told she had been successful. He directed that no one other than Ms Keane should perform the duties of CEO.
