Kabul - Jet fighters of Afghanistan's ruling Taliban movement bombed the main opposition stronghold of Panjsher valley north of Kabul yesterday, killing and wounding "many people", the opposition said.
The opposition commander, Mr Ahmad Shah Masood, said the Taliban aircraft dropped dozens of cluster and 500lb bombs on 10 villages in his native valley, some 75 miles to the north-east of Taliban-held Kabul.
