The Mid-Western Health Board has said a further meeting has taken place between the representatives of the board and the nursing unions in an effort to find a solution to difficulties caused by a shortage of nurses at the Limerick Regional Gen eral Hospital.

This followed a threat of industrial action by some 112 nurses who are on job-shares at the hospital if they are asked to resume full-time contracts when their annual review comes up over the next two months. The statement yesterday de- scribed the meeting as "constructive". A further meeting has been arranged for tomorrow.
