Colombo - Suspected Tamil Tiger rebels killed 13 soldiers in a landmine attack in northern Sri Lanka yesterday, a day after the group's leader said it was capable of fighting a conventional war.
Military officials said at least 37 other soldiers were wounded when a landmine detonated under an army bus. Police blamed that attack on Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam, who have been fighting for a separate homeland for minority Tamils since 1983.
