Taoiseach Brian Cowen will make his first official trip to the United States next month, where he will seek to address the issue of undocumented Irish people living in the US.
A Government spokesman said Mr Cowen will visit New York for a series of engagements with political and
business leaders, as well as representatives of the Irish community.
He will visit the New York Stock Exchange on Wednesday July 16th and will deliver a speech to the Wall Street 50 dinner on Thursday July 17th.
In his meetings, Mr Cowen is expected to discuss the global economic situation, how to further develop the relationship between Ireland and America and the issue of immigration reform and the undocumented Irish in
the US, his spokesman added.
