The Taoiseach, Mr Bertie Ahern has said Dublin's transport system is one of the main causes of frustration for people living in Dublin and that he is considering a new planning and regulatory body to deal with the issue.
He said extra buses and Quality Bus Corridors along with improved traffic and parking management were having an effect and that more initiatives were due referring to the LUAS and metro systems but he warned there was no "quick fix" for the city's problems.
Speaking at a meeting in his Dublin Central constituency he said: "Our infrastructure has not kept pace with economic and population growth."
